Twenty Four

Dress - H&M / Floral Headband - Crown & Glory / Necklace - Astrid & Miyu*
Rings - Galibardy, Urban Outfitters, Me & Zena

I'm back! Sorry for the major lack of blog posts last month. I had a terrible time healthwise and even had to go to hospital so blogging wasn't really my main priority. Infact there was probably only four days that I actually enjoyed during August. One was my 24th birthday on the 16th and the Leeds Blogger Meetup on the 18th. I wore this exact outfit for both of these occasions because I love this look so much and am also an incredibly lazy dresser. I'd wanted one of Sophie's gorgeous Whole Lotta Rosie floral headbands for ages and I finally decided to order the cream one. I just want to wear it everyday of my life from now on. The lilac and pink ones are definitely future purchases. My pink hair is sadly no more. I had my roots done last month and it all pretty much washed out with the toner. I do miss it so it might make a comeback. I'm tempted to go for something really different like baby blue or mint green.

My mum and sister came up for a couple of days for my birthday. They treated me and Chloe to some shopping in Manchester and a slap up Japanese feast at Samsi. I had a deluxe chicken bento box and it was absolutely delicious. I even ate some salmon sushi and I've refused to eat fish since I was 5 years old, thats how good it was! Chloe ate loads of vegetable tempura. I was surprised she had room considering how much of my cake she ate that morning. Andy couldn't get the day off work but he plonked my huge French Fancy cake on the bed before he left. That was literally all I asked for as a birthday present & it was definitely worth the infinite calories.

The Leeds blogger meetup organised by Ray & Tor was so much fun. It was great to meet some new bloggers & be reacquainted with the familiar faces I met at the meetup last year. Unfortunately I didn't get round to meeting everyone, probably because I was too busy propping up the bar with cherry vodka cocktails. Mook is my favourite bar in Leeds. Their cocktails are ridiculously strong & the 2 for 1 offer is too good to resist. I enjoyed the presentation from Xen Tan a lot and might possibly lose my fake tan cherry soon if I'm ever feeling brave enough. I just can't imagine myself with a darker face, maybe I'll look normal for once? So excited to try out the Glam Glow mask too. We got some really fab goody bags and I'll be posting about some of my favourite items soon. The day ended with a much needed Nando's trip with Ray, Jo, Tor & Sinead. I can't wait for the next one!

A Smile & A Ribbon

Dress - H&M / Hairbow - Astrid & Miyu / Necklace - Gogo Philip / Ring - Primark / Bracelet - Topshop

I was planning to wear this for Chloe's birthday but that was the one day that everything was covered in snow. So both our pretty dresses were substituted for jumpers & leggings. Its a bit warmer today so I figured I would just wear it today instead. I've seen this dress from H&M doing the rounds on loads of blogs but its with good reason because its so flattering. I couldn't resist buying the black version as well. H&M is definitely my shop of choice at the moment. I ended up buying two pairs of shorts from there because all I could find in Topshop were high waisted hotpants. I know they're 'on trend' but they really aren't the most flattering shape for my hips. Plus the H&M ones were half the price of the ones in Topshop!

My hair is still nicely pinkified, mainly because I remembered to add a bit of dye to my conditioner again. I dyed my hair lilac last summer but it only lasted one wash so this time round I'm gonna get an empty bottle and fill it with premixed dye & conditioner to keep my hair looking vibrant. Since I dyed it pink I've been wearing lots more hair accessories. Today I'm wearing this absolutely gorgeous satin hairbow that I was sent by Astrid & Miyu. I don't think I've seen a girlier or prettier bow out there, this one is so perfect. I love how it matches my hair colour too.

I'm just about to pop out to Asda now for some food shopping. I saw that they've reduced their Cadbury's chocolate eggs to 50p! But I will be avoiding them like the plague. I've decided that I now hate Easter because people just keeping throwing chocolate at you from left, right & centre. Its started to make my teeth hurt so I binned half the stuff we had in the cupboards. Its a sad day when chocolate no longer makes you happy!

Bishoujo Senshi

Blouse - Primark / Skirt - H&M / Necklace - Astrid & Miyu

This shirt has been on my wishlist for the longest time. I only ever saw it once in my local Primark in a size 8 & size 12. Not brilliant when you're a size 10 but I was willing to ignore that because I wanted it so much. I had to rush off to our swimming lesson & when I returned two hours later they were both gone. So I trawled ebay for it & managed to get it BNWT for £12. Happy me. I think it was the combination of a pointed collar, bell sleeves & a bow that drew me to it. It also slightly reminds me of the Japanese school uniform. I always wanted to be Sailor Moon so now I can live out my dreams haha. I'm wearing my pleated leather H&M skirt which I'm sure you all know I'm obsessed with. I was sent this absolutely gorgeous necklace from Astrid & Miyu. Its the perfect mixture of grunge & elegance which is kind of the aesthetic I've been going for recently. I'll always love pretty clothes but I like to use accessories to toughen up an outfit.
